Anne-Sophie Bertrand with new disc: visiting Amalie Beer’s salon

French harpist Anne-Sophie Bertrand releases a new CD on 13 March. With her album "Amalie’s Cosmos”, the French musician pays tribute to the salon of Amalie Beer, mother of composer Giacomo Meyerbeer. The recording features works, some arranged for harp, that could have been heard in Amalie Beer's salon. A salon in the heart of Berlin in the mid-19th century, where great philosophers, researchers, politicians, composers and musicians came and went. Anne-Sophie Bertrand has recorded works by Fanny Mendelssohn, Claude Debussy, Franz Liszt, Louis Spohr, Pauline Viardot and other important composers. The CD is released by Pentatone.
